OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS

For You From the Word 

For the man who uses well what he is given shall be given more, and he shall have abundance.
But from the man who is unfaithful, even what little responsibility he has shall be taken from him.

For You To Think About 

On July 4, we celebrate freedom. Because of the sacrifices of other Americans who have gone before us, we have the freedom to pursue opportunities and to choose how to invest our lives.

But with freedom comes responsibility.  In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a story of a master who presented opportunities to three of his employees.  Two rose to the challenge. They pursued a growth strategy which helped the master expand his kingdom.

The third employee chose a different course. Rather than facing his fears, he hid the opportunity until the master returned.  His choice did nothing to grow the master’s kingdom.

Every day, 8,458 American women discover they are pregnant, although they did not plan to be.  Americans have the freedom to choose how to invest ourselves in helping them choose life. How will your choices grow God’s kingdom?

For You To Pray

Gracious God, thank You for the freedom to choose life and for opportunities to encourage others to do so. Help me take opportunities You give me to encourage pregnant women. Amen.
