Birthmother Ministries Inc. Director
Birthmother Ministries, Inc. (Birthmothers®) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that shares Christ’s unconditional love one-on-one with those who face an unplanned pregnancy.
Position Description
The Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the ministry’s administration and programming.
Qualifications
• a committed relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated by active membership in a local church, deep devotional life, passion for service, a call to gospel ministry, and acceptance of Birthmothers’ Statement of Faith
• the desire to serve and support those who face an unplanned pregnancy, the ability to show compassion to hurting women, and a corresponding heart for adoption
• executive nonprofit experience; candidates with faith-based organization experience preferred
• experience in budgeting, marketing, fundraising, and development
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
• outstanding character marked by faithfulness, dependability, discernment, and wisdom
• demonstrated ability to form alliances with like-minded regional and national organizations
• 4-year college degree or more
• satisfactory background and reference checks
Responsibilities
• manage day-to-day ministry program at Washington Area office
• oversee ministry program at other Birthmothers regional offices
• supervise ministry administration
• recruit, hire, manage, and evaluate Birthmothers staff
• direct and model volunteer nurturing
• set and implement specific long-term (3-year and 5-year) and short-term (1-year and 6-month) goals to grow the ministry
• cultivate the ministry within churches, community organizations, potential funding agencies, and in the press both locally and nationally
• work with Development Director to produce ministry development materials, implement print and online development campaigns (including ministry newsletters and appeals), and conduct annual fundraising events
This employee reports to: the President
Position status: full-time in Vienna, VA office; evening meetings and occasional weekends are required
