Friends Program Assistant
Meredith joined Birthmothers in April 2008, working directly with both women who contact Birthmothers along with our volunteer Friends.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in religious studies from University of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA), Meredith worked as a birth parent and adoption counselor for Bethany Christian Services. She has also served as coordinator of the volunteer program at Elon Homes for Children (Elon, NC) and activity supervisor at a Salvation Army shelter.
Meredith recently transitioned as a part-time staff member at BIrthmothers while pursuing a master's degree in counseling at Regent University. "During my years as an adoption counselor, I saw firsthand that so many pregnant women lack support from a caring partner or friend,” says Meredith. “The ministry of Birthmothers is needed desperately.” As an adoptee herself, Meredith has a special heart for those in the adoption triad, and provides special support to Friends matched with birth moms who place their babies for adoption.
